Not every spring break needs flights, bookings, or a packed itinerary. Sometimes, staying in (or close by) ends up being more fun than expected, you just need a few ideas to get started.
Here are a few ways to make the most of it, without overplanning.
1. An At-Home Spa Day (That You Don’t Rush Through)
Start with the easiest one, slow down. Face masks, hair oiling, a long shower… whatever feels like a reset. If you have a balcony or patio, stepping out helps. Adding Outdoor Curtains or Solar Shades makes it easier to actually sit there without the sun getting in the way.
2. A No-Plan Road Trip

Pick a place, or don’t. Just drive. Carry snacks, play music, stop where you feel like. It’s less about the destination anyway. Before heading out, having Car Covers sorted (and even Bike Covers if you switch plans midway) just saves time and effort.
3. Backyard Camping (Without Overdoing It)
Set up a tent, throw in blankets, sit around and talk. You don’t need a full camping checklist. A few chairs, maybe layered with Chair Covers and Cushion Covers, already make things more durable. If there’s a grill involved, this is when those Grill Covers finally come off.
4. A Simple Day Out in the Green
A park, a garden, even a short walk, it doesn’t have to be an “activity.” Sometimes just being outside is enough. When you’re back, opening your own space – moving things around, uncovering what hasn’t been used in a while, makes it feel different again.
5. Beach or Lake Day (If You Can Get One)
If you’re near water, don’t overthink it. Pack light and go. If you’re staying longer, some kind of shade helps – people often end up using Custom Tarps for this because it’s quick and does the job.
6. Backyard Movie Night
This one usually happens last-minute. Projector or not, it works. If you’re setting up outside, small things help, like using Table Covers for snacks or a Sofa Cover to make seating feel clean and usable.
7. Start a Small Garden
Spring makes everyone want to try gardening. You don’t have to go big, start with a few plants. If you have a pergola or overhead structure, adding Pergola Covers helps once the sun gets harsher. Otherwise, you’ll avoid that space soon enough.
8. At-Home Game Day
This one gets chaotic, in a good way. Board games, water balloons, random competitions, it doesn’t matter. You’ll end up using whatever’s around. Even Custom Tarps sometimes double up as ground covers or quick shade.
9. Learn Something (Or Just Try)
Pick something you’ve been putting off. Could be anything – baking, painting, even just reading more. The only thing that really matters is having a space where you can sit and do it comfortably. Clean seating, a bit of shade, it makes a difference.
That’s Spring Break, Really
Not perfectly planned. Not packed. Just a mix of slow days and small plans that come together on their own. And somewhere in between, you end up using your space more, once it’s set up in a way that works for you.
