After bidding adieu to winter, it’s time to celebrate the new season. Spring is a transitional season, and one of change. From the plants blooming in the wind, to a good round of spring cleaning, Spring is a time for rejuvenation and revitalization. And, while we’re talking rejuvenation, why not take the time to spruce up your decor?

        Pick Personalized Pieces

Before you start designing, keep this in mind: even within the ever changing world of design trends, it’s important to remember that you want to give a unique character to your home, select accessories that are personal to you.

To bring new life into your home this spring, select a series of personalized pieces that reflect your own aesthetics and attitudes.

        Vintage Vibe

If you want to provide your home with a chic aesthetic while playing into the styles of spring, try adding a piece of vintage furniture. Vintage furniture adds personality to the space, giving a unique piece while adding to a fun, playful environment. Vintage pieces also  lend to pastel paints, making them perfect for spring.

Along with their inherent benefits, vintage furniture communicates a love of conservation and history. Reusing older pieces is a sustainable practice that discourages waste, and vintage furniture also acts as a great conversation piece for discussing design history. So if you want to show your love for history while staying trendy, try a fresh painted antique.

        Rounded Shapes

With the lush, life-giving warmth of spring, it’s time to move beyond geometric shapes and add a feminine touch to your  decor. Curvy furniture has a great balance of modern and feminine, and creates an inviting, playful atmosphere.

So, swap out big, boxy sofas and chairs for curvy, C-shaped sectionals to imbue your space with new energy. You might also consider chair covers to give your existing style a shade of new substance.

Some other areas to incorporate some plush, soft curves include rounded beds, sofas, and couches. Any of these curvy items can work as unique statement pieces. If you’re on a budget, a few details and accents such as rounded cushions with velvet custom covers can bring about a huge difference.

        Greenery is the Way

Instead of incorporating floral colors into your home, why not just bring the outdoors inside? Adding a few indoor plants can create a calming effect in your home and circulate clean, fresh air. Select plants with popping hues to add vibrancy and spread a fresh scent. For a maintenance-free route, add easy-to-maintain faux plants to match your decor.

        Install Outdoor Kitchens

With spring in full bloom, it’s time to enjoy cooking outside. Whether you have a large garden or a smaller patio, you can easily create an outdoor kitchen that suits your style. From an undercover workstation with a wood-fire pizza oven to a portable cooking station with a gas grill on wheels, outdoor kitchens are available in a multitude of sizes and forms.

For a perfect alfresco experience with friends and family, add a dining table with a luxurious sectional, adorned in a set of sectional covers.

        Bring Biophilic Designs into Home

When we get out of our homes and into the springtime sun, we’re reminded of our connection to nature. Interacting with the outdoors has been shown to improve both physical and mental wellbeing. If you’re ready to take the next step in your relationship with mother nature, create a space utilizing biophilic design.

Biophilic design philosophy integrates natural materials, colors, textures, patterns, and tech to blur the boundaries between indoor and outdoor living spaces. Here’s some ideas to create a biophilic design language in your home:

        • Keep windows clear, and clean. Make the most of the available natural light.
        • Use subtle tones of chalky aqua and soft grays to embrace an airy openness.
        • Go for clean lines, layered textures, and neutral tones to energize the space and foster a relaxing, restorative feel.
        • Hang pots, trailing plants from the ceiling.
        • Plant a herb garden on the kitchen windowsill.
        • Add natural wood grains to your furniture, flooring, or wall panels for natural textures.

        Green is the New Black

From eucalyptus to mint, you can utilize muted shades of green as a foundation for your interior color palette. Greens can act as effective neutral shades, while adding a fresh, harmonious, and revitalizing effect to the interiors of your home. So this spring, ditch the black paint and add a nice dark olive for a lively, classy effect.

Go Over The Hill with A Country Look

Love design but want to avoid pretensions? This spring, have a little fun with a country charm renovation. Dec out your walls with bold hues, busy prints, and big designs. Experiment with striking color blocking patterns, paint effects, and big, cozy accessories. Remember, there are no rules when it comes to trying out ‘maximalist’ décor.

        Go Green for Spring

Between pollution, global warming, and waste, we all have a duty to shift to sustainable living practices. Give your home a sustainable glow-up by designing your space with sustainable products. Replace old appliances with smart solutions such as eco dishwashers, reusable bamboo kitchen rolls, and energy-efficient cellular shades.

        Consider Barkitecture

Need home redesigning ideas that are functional for your furry pals too? Barkitecture is the way to go. This new interior trend called barkitecture is all about building luxury spaces for your pets without compromising on the design choice for your home.

When incorporating barkitecture, function is as important as form. Create multi-functional utility spaces incorporating pet beds, built-in pet showers, animal-friendly shelves, and scratch posts for your pets. Make sure to incorporate organizational tools to suit your pet’s needs while blending in with your home’s decor.

        Build Versatile Spaces

The pandemic has forced us all to transform our living spaces into multipurpose work spaces. With this in mind, a springtime redesign with multifunctionality in mind might be the right step to creating a perfect work from home environment.

When designing for versatility, write down all the potential uses and needs for each space in your home. Select multi-purpose furniture that works for multiple arrangements. Likewise, adding hidden storage helps versatility, allowing you to change out accessories easily as the room changes uses.

        Add Patterns to Your Walls

Spring time is about youthfulness; a sense of play as the world warms up again. So, for added playfulness, try introducing bold and exceptional patterns to your home. Checkered patterns and stripes can provide visual interest to the decor while making the space feel  larger and brighter.

If you truly want to go bold this spring, try choosing prints like gingham to chirpy-checks. Vintage patterns such as these give your home a generational appeal and charm. To round out the patterns, add custom covers and sectional covers for tableware, upholstery, bedline, or even little accessories like the ceramic vase in matching patterns.
