Green with Envy: 12 Ways to Punch Up Your Home’s Curb Appeal

A beautiful exterior draws the eyes of guests, neighbors, and even future buyers to your home. If your home’s curb appeal isn’t where you’d like it to be, jazz it up with awe-inspiring ideas for punching your home’s curb appeal all the way up.

        Clean Up the Junk

Junk in the yard is a quick way to leave a bad impression. Make a list of all unwanted items and donate any functioning junk to a local charity. If an old lawnmower still has some utility to you, hide it and any eyesores in a storage room.

        Spritz Up Everything

Just like our skin, our home needs a good scrubbing too. A clean driveway, sidewalk, and facade go a long way in making a good impression on neighbors. Take time for a good power wash and make sure dirt and decay don’t get in the way of your home’s pop.

        Paint it All

A fresh new paint job can reinvigorate your home’s curb appeal. Take the time to repaint your facade, front doors, garage doors, and all fixtures and windows. A fresh coat will take your home from drab to fab in no time.

        Go Green

One way to liven up your curb appeal is through a splash of greenery. A new set of fresh flowers and potted plants will add class without hefty spending. If your yard is short on real estate, try fresh hanging plants to achieve a fresh look. After all, it’s about using what you have for a beautiful arrangement.

        Trim Trim Trim

Remember, one overgrown bush or messy plant is enough to blemish your curb. A well-maintained yard gives a sense of majesty to your exterior, along with giving the sun a more direct path to your home. Prune & trim those overgrown plants to enjoy sunshine-kissed mornings and beautiful balcony views.

        Refresh Your Front Entry

Your doorway is more than an entrance; it’s the first impression you give all your visitors. For a truly grand entrance, try installing a statement door, turning your entrance into a conversation piece.

If you’re on a budget, a new doormat might be enough to add some personality to your walkway. No matter what you do, always take the time to clean up: regularly dust the door, fix any damages, and give it a good polish for an inviting look.

        Deck up Your Facade

Your home’s exterior reflects your personality; so why not give it a little decor? Add a new nameplate to the side of your facade to truly make it yours. If you already have one, give it a good polish.

To add some flourish to your facade, try installing climber plants that provide some color without going garish. Never be afraid to go the extra mile if you want that extra curb appeal.

        Bells & Whistles

Adding unconventional touches does a lot to build personality to your exterior. For the front, consider a specialty doorbell, wall art, and comfy seating.

There’s also plenty of ways to decorate your yard, such as a new sculpture in the garden, a specialty mailbox, or even a personalized fire pit cover. Remember, investment in decor pays dividends in curb appeal.

Make a Statement with Your Outdoor Furniture

Outdoor furniture plays a critical role in your home’s exterior aesthetic. Add furniture to the space you have wisely. For instance, in tight coordiors, try a cute coffee chair with a small round table or some small planters with small statues. If you have plenty of space, a sectional or sofa with cushions can add much-needed charm to your leisure space.

If you have no practical need for new furniture, but want to bring some decorative charm, try a new set of patio furniture covers. If you want a more minimal approach; try adding a custom pillow cover and keep your sofa plain for a more subtle touch.

        Revitalize Your Lighting Fixtures

No matter how beautifully you’ve arranged your deck, exposed light bulbs can ruin the ambiance you’re striving for. Try installing a stylish set of new lighting fixtures, selected to match your patio’s decor.

If you are an out of the box thinker, then a good paint job over an old fixture is a smart way to conceal old bulbs.

        Try Specialty Lighting

Specialty lighting fixtures go a long way in giving your home an extra splash. Be it a battery-operated lantern, candle lighting, or a fairy light woven through your greenery, specialty lighting has a way of catching the eye and making a statement.

Specialty lights are also a smart and subtle way to add a safety feature; warding off unwanted guests. Remember to keep their practical use in mind: your lighting should always offer enough illumination for easy entry at night.

Sheath Your Outdoor Furniture with Custom Covers

Have a firepit or dog crate under a boring cover in your yard? Try a personalized set of covers with trendsetting designs. A set of sectional covers will not only conceal the possessions, but add some oomph to your home’s exterior. For example, add cute pet pictures to a custom dog crate cover, giving a fun tribute to your furry loved ones.

Done sprucing up your exterior? Then it might be the perfect time to really clean out the inside. Here’s some inspirational tips to deep clean your home.
